Friday belongs to Nightfall -- the free summer concert series at Miller Plaza, with teenage bluegrass mandolin prodigy Wyatt Ellis headlining and High Stuarts also on the bill. Saturday the music spills into the streets for Southside Porchfest, and Sunday the Walnut Street Bridge Festival takes over Coolidge Park at the city's iconic pedestrian span. Friday and Saturday are a gift -- sunny, 86, and rain doesn't even make the guest list. Sunday's more of a coin flip on showers and storms, so if the Bridge Festival's on your list, get there early and beat the sky to it.

Friday

Nightfall: High Stuarts / Wyatt Ellis -- Miller Plaza

Nightfall is back downtown for another free Friday in the open air. Wyatt Ellis -- a teenage mandolin prodigy already turning heads in bluegrass circles -- headlines, with High Stuarts also on the bill. Miller Plaza fills up fast once people clock out, so grab a patch of lawn early. Free, and the most reliable good time on a Chattanooga Friday.

Chelcie Lynn: The Loose Lips Tour -- The Walker Theatre

Chelcie Lynn -- better known as viral character Trailer Trash Tammy -- brings her Loose Lips Tour to the Walker Theatre. A real touring draw; if you're a fan, this is the night.

Carlos Anthony -- The Comedy Catch

Touring comedian Carlos Anthony settles in at The Comedy Catch for a full weekend run, Friday through Sunday. Pick your night -- the late shows tend to be the loose ones.

Movie Night: Camp Rock -- McDonald Farm

An outdoor family movie night at McDonald Farm, screening Camp Rock under the stars. Pack chairs and a blanket -- the easy, low-key way to start the weekend with kids in tow.

Saturday

Southside Porchfest -- Southside Neighborhood

This is the one to build your Saturday around. Porchfest turns the Southside into a walkable live-music crawl -- bands on porches, stoops, and lawns across the neighborhood, and you wander set to set with your people. Exactly the kind of thing Chattanooga does well.

Twilight Firefly Market -- Chattanooga Choo Choo

The Twilight Firefly Market takes over the historic Choo Choo grounds Saturday evening -- a night market with vendors, atmosphere, and the old terminal as a backdrop. A natural cap to the day once the Porchfest sets wind down.

River Market -- Tennessee Aquarium Plaza

The Chattanooga Market's riverfront edition sets up on the Tennessee Aquarium Plaza -- live music, local makers, produce, and food along the water. Free to walk through and a solid Saturday-morning anchor.

Nicholas Krolak: Past Lives Album Release -- Barking Legs Theater

Local jazz bassist Nicholas Krolak celebrates the release of his album Past Lives at Barking Legs Theater. An album-release show always runs a little electric -- the band's playing material they care about for a room that came to listen.

Caitlynne Curtis -- Songbirds

Songwriter Caitlynne Curtis plays Songbirds, the city's marquee listening room near the Choo Choo. The right room for lyrics you actually want to hear.

Get outside: National Trails & Caves Day

Saturday's an outdoors holiday twice over. It's National Trails Day -- Enterprise South Nature Park is the place to walk it -- and National Cave & Karst Day, marked at both Raccoon Mountain Caverns and the iconic Ruby Falls inside Lookout Mountain. With the heat up, the caves stay cool all afternoon.

Sunday

The Walnut Street Bridge Festival -- Coolidge Park

Sunday's centerpiece. The festival sets up at Coolidge Park right at the foot of the Walnut Street Bridge -- one of the world's longest pedestrian spans and the most recognizable spot in the city. (The bridge itself is under restoration this year; the festival carries on at Coolidge Park regardless.) With storms a coin-flip in the afternoon, go early; parking along that stretch goes fast regardless.

Top Tomato Festival -- First Horizon Pavilion

The Chattanooga Market's beloved Top Tomato Festival lands at the First Horizon Pavilion -- a genuinely fun, only-here celebration of peak-season tomatoes, the growers who raise them, and the food that comes with.

Interstellar Echoes: A Tribute to Pink Floyd -- The Signal

A full-production Pink Floyd tribute at The Signal, the city's big touring stage -- the kind of show that rewards a real sound system, which this room has.

Bobby Stone Film Series: Parasite -- The Walker Theatre

The Bobby Stone Film Series screens Bong Joon-ho's Parasite at the Walker Theatre. (The series runs other titles across the weekend too -- check the lineup if Sunday's pick isn't your speed.)
