The Chattanooga Renaissance Festival takes over Coolidge Park Saturday -- knights, artisans, live performers, and $10 to get in. That's the weekend's best reason to get out of the house. Just know that Friday and Saturday both carry a 74% chance of showers and thunderstorms, highs around 81-82°F, so have a backup plan or an umbrella ready. Sunday drops to a 54% chance of rain -- slightly better, but still not a wash-free Memorial Day weekend.
Friday
Mustache The Band -- The Signal, 7:30 PM & 8:00 PM ET
Mustache The Band does 90s country -- the kind of set where you'll know every word before the chorus lands. They bill themselves as a party band and seem to mean it. Doors at 7:30, music at 8:00; grab tickets through TicketWeb before the weekend rush.
ATMOSPHERE FRIDAYS with ONSUEG + MAN IN BLACK -- ATMOSPHERE, $75, 10:00 PM ET
Onsüeg and Man In Black are a late-night pairing built for people who appreciate restraint -- minimal grooves, deep cuts, space between the beats. This is a 10 PM start, so it's the after-dinner move if you want the night to keep going.
ATMOSPHERE FRIDAYS with OSHE -- ATMOSPHERE, $80, 10:00 PM ET
Also at ATMOSPHERE Friday night: Oshe brings a soul-forward, funk-heavy set that's more floor-filling than the Onsüeg slot. If you're deciding between the two Friday bookings at ATMOSPHERE, Oshe is the one for people who want to move.
Saturday
Chattanooga Renaissance Festival -- Coolidge Park, $10.00, 10:00 AM ET
Ten dollars gets you into a full day of knights, artisans, performers, and vendors at Coolidge Park. The Renaissance Festival has a genuinely good mix of things to look at -- local makers, costumed characters, and live entertainment spread across the park. If the storms hold off until afternoon, the morning window from 10 AM onward is your best shot at dry ground.
Garden Gala -- Chattanooga Green, 10:00 AM ET
The Garden Gala runs 10 AM to 5 PM at Chattanooga Green, celebrating everything in bloom -- local flowers, garden vendors, and a pretty setting along the green. It's an outdoor event, so keep an eye on that 74% rain chance and plan accordingly.
River Market -- Tennessee Aquarium, Free admission; food/vendor purchases separate, 10:00 AM ET
The weekly River Market at Tennessee Aquarium Plaza is free to walk through -- live music, arts and crafts, and food vendors along the waterfront. It's a reliable Saturday morning anchor if you're already heading downtown for the Renaissance Festival.
RUN CHA 5K -- Tennessee Riverpark, $120, 6:30 AM ET
Global Running Day lands on Saturday, and RUN CHA is marking it with a 5K along Tennessee Riverpark. The 6:30 AM start time gets you out before the heat and -- with luck -- ahead of the afternoon storms. Walkers are welcome alongside runners.
Chattanooga Red Wolves Vs. Charlotte Independence | Military Appreciation Night -- Charles H. Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center
The Red Wolves host Charlotte Independence at 7 PM Saturday for Military Appreciation Night at Red Wolves Stadium. Soccer plus a meaningful tribute to local service members -- this one has good energy for a Saturday evening, especially if the outdoor afternoon plans get rained out.
Sunday
Hometown Half Marathon - Chattanooga -- Tennessee Riverpark, $120, 7:00 AM ET
The Hometown Half Marathon goes off at 7 AM Sunday along Tennessee Riverpark. The 54% rain chance is lower than the weekend's earlier days, so there's a reasonable shot at dry racing conditions -- at least for the first couple hours. Bodies Events runs this as a family-friendly race series focused on community health, and the Riverpark route is one of the better urban courses in the area.
Little Debbie 7 Family Fun Run -- Little Debbie Park, Free, 8:00 AM ET
Free community run at Little Debbie Park on the Collegedale Greenway, 8 AM Sunday. It's a 7-mile course, family-friendly, and a good way to close out the long weekend on foot without any registration fees hanging over you.
